fabulous music friday

I hope to take Fridays to showcase some of my favorite music.  Over the past several years, I seemed to have gained a reputation for enjoying a plethora of music that doesn't really fit well into particular genres.  It all started back in the days when Napster was legal and I was a naive 18-year-old from small town Alabama who owned maybe 10 cd's and didn't have a clue about music.  Good thing my college roommate did (and didn't have her own computer) because I inherited some pretty incredible tunes and then began a journey of seeking out great music.

Today's spotlight:  "Drown" by Chasen.  I was introduced to this band by a friend back in August.  This song sounds totally different to me than the other stuff on their album, and it's great.  I haven't enjoyed their other stuff enough to spend more than a dollar and download more songs from iTunes, but this one is definitely worth your $0.99.  Please note that I'm generally not a fan of much "contemporary Christian music," if that's the category these guys fit into.  This song is certainly an exception.  Great lyrics, nice vocals, love the feel!
